A study on the first floor provides a great work space or if you prefer there is plenty of room downstairs or in the outside patios. There is a full kitchen. But it is shared and not in the unit. The unit has a full size refrigerator and a microwave and a coffee maker. Built in a Dutch Style Victorian style in 1900....has about 2000 ft. of decks on multiple levels. ..... offshore breezes and the warm afternoon sun all day long keep the temperature mild and comfortable. We have room 108 completely refurbished Hawthorn Historic Inn is a National and state historic Landmark.....spotless.
Your unit has a microwave, and small refrigerator. There is a huge, little used kitchen downstairs(see photos) .
With regard to location we are about a five minute drive from the airport, A 25 minute walk to the Convention Center and four blocks to Balboa Park which has 17 museums, the San Diego zoo, and the Old Globe Theatre. A bus goes right past the hotel and can take visitors either downtown or North about 1 mile where a beautiful sanctuary owned by the self realization fellowship .
The Hawthorne Inn also known in earlier years as the Plainsman looks exactly the same as when it was built in 1900. The interior hallways have not been altered. There are a wide hallways, the rooms are very soundproof, there is a public Study area across the hall to room 108...it is sunny, quiet and little used by other guests...it's like having a spare room to read in etc. We are under the flight path to Lindberg Field.
