    Not at all. In fact, if you’re just looking to get more information about the demand for travel nurses in your city, simply fill out the form and we’ll email you periodically when travelers are coming to your area. (You can unsubscribe at any time).

    Can I list a room?
    Yes! We hear from homeowners around the nation who have an extra room or a backhouse that are looking to rent to travel nurses. Rooms (and extra units like a mother-in-law suite) are an important part of our travel nurse housing strategy nationwide… especially in high-cost cities.
    I’m not ready to list now, but would like to learn more. Should I still fill out the form?
    Yes! We love speaking to landlords…even if you’re just considering renting a furnished unit to travel nurses. Just provide some basic contact info above and schedule a time to speak with one of us. We can be a great sounding board during the planning stages!!
    Is there a process I need to go through to be approved?

    How do I know if my property is right for travel nurses?
    Travel nurses rent rooms, basements, studios, apartments, condos, hotels…. We accept all property types, but if your not sure, or just want to have a conversation with us, schedule a call today!
    How is this different than vacation rental or home-sharing sites?
    We’re all about healthcare travelers where the industry standard contract length is just over 3 months. This suits many vacation rental owners better because it means less turnover and better quality tenants!
    Does my property need to be close to a hospital?
    Ideally, Yes. Your property should be within a reasonable commuting distance to a hospital. 30 minutes or less is the sweet spot for a commute time, but some are willing to commute a little further for the right place.
    I’m new to this. How should I prepare my unit for a travel nurse?
    Travel nurses are professionals who stay 3 months at a time. They are looking for affordable housing that is clean and safe. Properties on our map need to be all 3 (affordable, clean, & safe) because that’s what our travelers expect.
    You can stock the place with a few essentials for them to get started, but they don’t expect housekeeping, fruit-baskets, coffee, or mini-shampoos. All those things are nice (especially the coffee!) but certainly not expected.
    Here’s what they want:
    All utilities should be included in the rent. Bedding & all linens (two sets are nice!). Kitchenware, bathware, and essential housewares. WIFI is practically a must. If you don’t have it...get it. SmartTV’s in their room are preferred so they can unwind after a long shift by watching their favorite netflix movie or hulu show. Extras include laundry in unit/on site, assigned parking/carport, and pets.
    Do travelers ever bring a pet?
    Yes. According to our internal polling of a couple hundred travel nurses, 26% travel with a pet. Travelers with pets expect to pay a reasonable amount of extra deposit because, well... accidents happen. You Do Not have to accept pets to list on our site.
    How do I screen the tenant?
    With Cozy! Cozy is a partner site who provides free tenant screening for Travel Nurse Housing landlords. You simply create an account and start screening. (Screening fees paid by traveler).
    Can I accept online rent payments?
    Yes! You can screen tenants and accept online rent payments with our partner site, Cozy! You simply create an account and start accepting payments. (Always free for the Landlord).
    Who do I collect rent from?
    Most of the time you’ll work with the stipend traveler directly, however sometimes a medical staffing company can be the payer. Most travel nurses tend to take the housing stipend and manage housing on their own, but there are still some that take the company housing.
    Should I charge a deposit ?
    Yes, you need to be comfortable with the person that’s living in your unit, so we always recommend you secure the unit by collecting a refundable security deposit. That said, if you charge too much, it will deter many travel nurses. The days of requiring first and last month’s rent upfront are gone... the sweet spot is typically 1/3 rent. Charging a one-time cleaning fee (typically $100-$125) typically makes sense as well.
    What’s involved in listing my property and are there any fees?
    After we have a conversation and determine that your property is a good fit for our map, we’ll invite you to list your property on Travel Nurse Housing! It’s simply $99 for a 12 month listing for individual property owners. There are no commissions or booking fees as you work directly with the traveler...and there are never any markups to the rent. If you’re a hotel or an apartment complex, please fill out the form for custom pricing.
    *All listings are authenticated and are subject to approval by Travel Nurse Housing.
    **All listings renew automatically at the end of its term unless user opts-out prior to renewal date.
    ***The frequency of travel nurse tenant leads in your area depend on the hiring patterns of travel nurses. (There are over 350 travel nursing staffing companies, and about 30,000 travel nurses in circulation at any given time).
    What’s your refund policy?
    A listing is valid for 12 months after the purchase date, and will automatically renew for a consecutive 12 month term. There are no refunds once your listing is created. If your listing was never created, a full refund can be provided upon request. You may opt-out of automatic renewal anytime before your renewal date. Refunds will not be provided after your listing renews. Listings are not transferable to another person, but your purchased time may be rolled into another listing owned by the same person.
    What can I do to make my listing stand out?
    Once you’re invited to list, select the Owner Verification Badge at checkout! When you’re verified, travelers know that you’re the owner on record with the county, and the property is not in foreclosure. It basically tells them that you’ve gone through an extra layer of vetting and are a reputable landlord.
    Can I list my property if it’s unfurnished?
    Travel Nurses prefer furnished properties with utilities included.
    Can I list my Hotel or Apartment Complex?
    Absolutely. Travel nurses need as many housing options as possible and frequently rely on hotels and apartment complexes! Fill out the brief form to begin.
    How do I secure a tenant?
    We recommend using the tenant screening and online rent payment solution from Cozy, a Travel Nurse Housing partner site, followed up with a state-specific month to month lease with a 30-day notice to vacate.
    Can I manage my calendar with iCal?
    Yes! We’re set up to receive imported iCalendars from Airbnb and VRBO. This feature enables you to have a single-calendar view for all your reservations! Currently, exports are not enabled.
    Can I make edits to my listing?
    Yes. You’ll be able to do things like update your calendar, add/edit your images, adjust your notification preferences, increase/decrease your alert radius, and change your rent amount.
